Virtual spaces have immense potential for sharing real time information, virtual toolkits for those who cannot attend in person, and forging-specific information to DOD personnel right from their computers. For a forge shop, it is important to understand how the specifications for material, process, etc. are applied. Specification support system toolkits reduce costs and lead times, and simplify the procurement process.

Project: FIA Workforce Development Toolkit – IFT program

Objective:
Establish a digital library of educational resources to ensure the continual workforce development of the entire warfighter supply chain, including operators, design, procurement, and manufacturing personnel.

Solution:
Develop and maintain an online system toolkit that: (1) provides the latest essential skills and knowledge for the next generation workforce; (2) provides specification support training; and (3) facilitates the transition of current and emerging forging process technology developments to government and industry.
